We're back with another #petstory.

Tarini was diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder in 2016-2017. She wasn't looking at adopting a pet since her parents were against the idea. It was at this time that a family friend got two Labrador-retriever puppies to her place. They, Lucy and Motu were less than a month old. She adored these "white cotton balls", who she planned to keep for a day or two and then return them. However, she got attached to one and named her Pheoby.

Both of them developed a beautiful mutual bond, which helped Tarini keep her mind off what was going on at that time. Even though the medicines made her drowsy and lethargic, she would get up at 6 am and take Pheoby for a walk. Pheoby helped her calm down and having a pet was a healing experience for Tarini.

When Pheoby was about six to eight months old, she scratched Tarini's sister and thus, she had to give her away.

Now Tarini looks after the stray dogs near her place by providing them food and temporary shelter.

As KOKO's parent walked away, after dumping her at the #killshelter for "housing', this poor girl thought: “If I never see you again, I will always carry you, inside, outside, on my fingertips and at brain edges, and in the centers of what I am….of what remains.” Alone for the first time in her life, alone after 7 years of living with a family, Koko is completely terrified, a shy, timid, girl hudding at the back of her #kennel, trying to be small, trying to be invisible. We are not surprised. In her home she had been kept away from the child she wanted so badly to get to know. She was separated from two small #dogs too, isolated in her own room. All she had for company were the 6 cats, and they were her only company. Despite the loneliness she must have surely felt, KOKO misses the only life she had. She had her toys, she was taken for one 10 minute walk outdoors each day, but it seems her world had been those 4 walls that she had lived in, & now it’s all gone. As substandard as it was, it was a comforting routine where she felt safe & relaxed. Koko desperately needs an EXPERIENCED #foster or #adopter in an adult only home, one that will allow her the time she needs to decompress, warm to her new surroundings and realize what it means to be a beloved family member with full run of a home, long walks 2 or 3 x a day, and the kind of life she only could have dreamed of Hurry #foster or #adopting Koko, we want her sad lost eyes turned to glad, smiling eyes filled with happiness.
